Ben 10 And The Powerpuff Girls At London Toy Fair 2018
This week (23/01/2018 to 25/01/2018) was the 2018 Toy Fair at the Olympia exhibition centre in London, UK. The annually-held convention is an opportunity for toy manufacturers to promote and demonstrate their latest toys to attract potential retailers and customers. This year, Cartoon Network’s owners – Turner was a sponsor of the event and sponsored a cafe in the exhibition centre during the convention. The master toy licensee for Cartoon Network’s The Powerpuff Girls – Spin Master and distributor for Ben 10 toys for the UK market (on behalf of Playmates Toys) – Flair were also present at the event.
The day before the opening of this year’s Toy Fair, Cartoon Network Enterprises, the product and service licensing division of Cartoon Network already announced a second wave of toys for the newly rebooted Ben 10 animated series. New toys will include Heatblast Rocket Flyer, Diamondhead Power Tank vehicles, Omni-Enhanced figurines and also Omni-Launch battle figurines.

2018 also marks the 20th anniversary of Cartoon Network’s The Powerpuff Girls as a full animated series, alongside new episodes of The Powerpuff Girls this year and the return of the fourth Powerpuff Girl – Bliss, Cartoon Network will continue to license the brand out to clothing and toy manufacturers, retailers and confectioners.

At the Toy Fair, Funko (the manufacturer that makes Funko Pops, which are simplified vinyl figurines of characters from pop-culture), has announced that they’re releasing a Dorbz figure range featuring characters from Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty.

In other licensing news, Cartoon Network Enterprises and McDonald’s UK have partnered up to offer The Amazing World of Gumball toys in McDonald’s Happy Meals, the promotion is expected to start after the current Pokémon promotion has ended.
