Beat Monsters A New Korean-Made Cartoon Network Co-Production Likely To Air In Late 2016
Turner Broadcasting System Asia-Pacific have greenlighted a new animated short co-production with Synergy Media and South Korean animation production company Studio Goindol called Beat Monsters. Created in co-operation with the Korea Creative Content Agency, the new animated comedy shorts will air on Turner’s kids channels (Cartoon Network, Boomerang etc.) in the Asia-Pacific and Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. There will be 52 animated shorts of Beat Monsters, lasting two minutes each, plus additional micro-shorts, the animated shorts will feature a live action and 3D CGI art style.
Beat Monsters is about a group of alien monsters from outer space that are seeking for the ultimate music beat in the universe. The animated shorts will likely premiere in late 2016.
Mark Eyers, chief content officer for Turner’s kids networks in Asia Pacific made this statement regarding the new co-production:
“These fun and fresh shorts are exactly what we’re looking for as part of our International Shorts Programme. Turner has made a firm commitment to generating and supporting the production of original comedy animation right around the world – and we’re really pleased to find a likeminded and globally-focused partner in Korea. When it launches, Beat Monsters will deliver world-class laughs around the world from London to Lagos, and Madrid to Manila.”
Cartoon Network is currently working with studios and animators in Singapore, Taiwan, India, Australia, the US and Japan to create new short-form toons.
